The vaccine against Japanese encephalitis is safe and effective.
The vaccination schedule consists of two doses with a four-week interval. If there is not enough time, the interval can be shortened to one week for adults between 18 and 65 years old.
Revaccination takes place after 12 to 24 months.
Children from 2 months to 3 years old receive half a dose.
The duration of protection after the third dose is at least ten years.
